I have been waiting all day for the people to come set up all the stuff mom needs to come home: Hospital bed, oxygen, wheel chair, comode (commode? no time for spell check). The guy showed up at 4:30 PM finally. We must have been last on the list. I just called Shane to give him a 15 minute warning. He’s supposed to call me back then we’ll see what happens.

I had to get a little tough with Dakota just now on the phone. He called and asked again if Dalton could spend the night. He’s already been told twice that he COULDN’T! I feel bad for the boy coz I’m thinking he probably has nowhere to stay but I have a housefull and trust me when I say that he and Dakota CANNOT behave when they are together. I would have said yes if I thought they could shut up and be quite and not mess with things (like the medical equipment strewn about everywhere). Jack told Dakota that there would be no one sleeping over for a few weeks until things calmed down here.

UPDATE: Everything has been set up and I’ve been (mostly) instructed on the oxygen n stuff. Now I’m waiting, waiting, waiting on mom to get here.

Becky, I had to register to let you know that I’ve been thinking of you. I’m so sorry that you’re having to go thru this extremely difficult time with your mom. I can identify with your situation since I went thru it with my mother-in-law.

Yes, it’s very stressful and sometimes you don’t think you’ll be able to handle it, but just hang in there. Someday you’ll look back and be amazed that you actually did handle it.

Since I’m computer challenged, I finally got registered. Thank goodness!! I’m a former classmate of your Mother’s at good ole Potomac High.

I’m grateful that you have begun this journey with us.

At one time in my working experience, I was a DME Company….setting up a “hospital type” room in a client/patients’ home. I can fully understand your frustration waiting for the person to show up with all the equipment. My lands, back when I did this, we had the equipment in the patient’s home within an hour of the Doctor’s or Hospice Order. Seems as tho times have changed.

I know you will be given the strength to cope with MJ’s(as we used to know her) illness. You’ll never regret these days/hours/minutes.

I really got a kick out of the picture with the socks. I knit tube sox…cause I never learned to turn a heel.
    Those sox are grrreat!!

Last year I had surgery and my daughter was my care giver for a time here at home. A funny experience, if one can call such as this humurous, was when I had to use the commode for #2. When my daughter came in to empty it….you would have thought she was working at a HAS Mat place. She entered my bedroom wearing a plastic “coat”, latex gloves, and a mask!!! No I wasn’t contagious…..she was playing me!!!

Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers..
