In my journies yesterday I went to the Walmart on Platte. I saw a red Kodak Easy Share camera for $84 and when I asked about it I was told it indeed did have sound. I need to check the finances tomorrow after Jack gets paid and maybe I’ll buy it Saturday.
I had a crushing blow at my favorite Goodwill, the one downtown. It’s closing Nov 15
…why why WHY do the stores I love and frequent always close? The Hobby Lobby and Alberstons grocery store on Palmer Park closed about a year and a half ago and I still haven’t recovered from it. I see a lady who worked at the PP Hobby Lobby at the Woodmen store. She and I always shed a few tears together about it. * sigh…I could get there so easily on the bus and sometimes I would see my friend Steven with the disabled high school kids at the bus stop on my way home. As far as Albertons….we have to go to the one over on Centennial and Garden of the Gods Rd now, not too far out of the way if we go to the King Soopers too, but that’s not the point. It was easier to go to Albertsons on the way home from Walmart on Palmer Park dang it!
Donny spent the night with Dakota, joy joy. They got up and made a nice mess in the kitchen cooking spam and eggs but at least they cleaned it up. Dakota even did some laundry but I have a feeling he used a full cap of concentrated detergent…time will tell. I had to make him stop the drier and hang out the clothes. I’m too cheap to let a beautiful sunny day go to waste.
It’s gonna be 72 here again wooooooooooooooo! I keep remembering what people said to me when I decided to move here…”Oh don’t move to Colorado…it’s COLD there!” Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it’s cold in Illinois or doesn’t anyone notice? All I know is that here you can walk around in 40 degree weather with no coat and flip flops on your feet because the sun is stronger and there’s no bone chilling humidity. Yes, it snows but it melts off in less time than it takes to build a good snowman
I got my flowers! $25 does not go far in a good flower shop lol! I told Jack I probably put $1000 worth of fresh flowers on our tables from my garden over the course of the summer and he agreed. If I get my camera I’ll take a pic
Help! I am going nuts without a good camera!!! I see so many things I want to share but now I can’t seem to keep batteries long enough to make carrying the Kodak worth my while. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! (See all those exclamation points?!?! That means I am highly upset)
I am slowly getting my strength back from the trip. Poor Jack is not doing so well. He didn’t get near the sleep I did while gone and his job is physically demanding. (At least he still has a job, right?)
It’s so beautiful here! I went downtown after knitting yesterday and went to the PO and library (so many books so little time). I meant to cash in that Flower certificate I got back at the street breakfast in June from KLite 106.3…wait I think I have a pic somewheres….

It expires tomorrow…good thing I have to go BACK to the library to pick up another book I had on hold…I need to get to the bank over on Platte too so it’s all good n stuff.
Dakota didn’t have school but he stayed at James’. Mr Dakota and I are fixing to go round and round so maybe it’s a good thing he’s gone again. he has started blatently ignoring me when I ask him to do things. Fine, when he asks ME to do things he just might get that deer-in-the-headlight look back like he gives me. I put some knife books from my dad on his bed yesterday and he took them without a word last night…

I had a request at my mom’s memorial service to “Please keep blogging”…Ok… OK …I’ll try!
It’s a long long way from Colorado to Illinois and back in a car. I am sooooooooo tired! We got home about 6 last night then after we got the car unloaded (we looked like the Beverly Hillbillies coming back the car was so packed with stuff from the smoke house, storage locker, my mom, his mom) I hopped back in it and went down Circle Dr to see my BFF Sharie who wouldn’t ya know was here in Colorado Springs while I was in Illinois….so at 11;30 PM last night I fell in to bed and didn’t get up until 8 AM this morning. I did some laundry, checked my email (EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! I need a laptop to keep on top of that) unpacked, put away, re-arranged, knit a few rows, talked to my sister, got my mail from the neighbor (two checks wooooooooooooot), reinstated my unlimited long distance because my bill went way up when I cancelled it (go figure), got a bunch of fancy clothes from a yard sale from Sr. Vera Clark from out of the blue….sat back down for more email, got a call from Jack saying he was working late, got a call from a teacher who was looking for Dakota who has her keys or something…. and and and….here I still sit trying to blog. I have a lot going through my mind that I hope I can remember tomorrow or the next day.
Oh and I have to rub this in…SUNNY and 70-75 here for the next 3 days…..sorry….I did see some snow in Kansas if that makes you feel any better.

Ok FINALLY……..we have the plans for mom’s service.
It will be held Saturday Oct 25 at Wolfe Funeral Home, Potomac Illinois, 1-3 PM with burial afterwards at Johnson cemetery (off Newell Road SW of Danville). More of a meet and greet kinda thing than a funeral service, with Shane saying a few words at the end and Judy’s son, Dustin, playing some of mom’s favorite songs on guitar.
Hope to see you there! Please say hi and introduce yourself because chances are I might not recognize you because I’m OLD!!! lol

I finished my leaf shawl. Here are pics as it was blocking out…for those of you who have never experienced the magic of blocking a pile of wet wool into something beautiful like this…get thee to your nearest yarn shop!!!!!

I used a lace weight one-of-a-kind hand dyed wool with size 5 needles. it went fairly fast until the end…I was getting really really tired of it by the time I finished. I bought myself a new lace shawl pattern and some baby alpaca yarn to make it in…yummy! Gonna force myself to finish my cabled riding jacket before I start that project.
Come on all you knitters/crocheters/needle workers…let’s see your stuff!!!!!
Christina, add me knitting category please.
