Wow what a week or two I’ve had since I last checked in here.

I am still crazy quilting but not without some bumps and bruises along the way. I was trying to finish up a sample that just wasn’t laying flat due to my lack of foresight…must remember…trim the blocks even before assembling next time stupid….when I hit a bead during freestyle quilting and jammed my precious machine up. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! Four days and $65  later I am back at it. Wiser but poorer…the story of my life.

Good thing I got an order out of the blue for 14 bundles of crazy quilt fabric

I finished this one with no problems either

Now for my gripe session…MOMMY KIM GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack went to court Feb 25 again only to see her get off on the contempt count because she made two whole child support payments (late) in a row for Dec and Jan…still nothing for Feb. Then we find out she was in jail in Jan – Feb…hmmmmmmmmmmI guess Lairey made the payments not her. Has she come to see Dakota? No. Has she promised him to come get him two weeks in a row then cancelled? YES! The kid is crushed and Jack and I are highly POd. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Dakota hasn’t seen his mom since Christmas and she keeps putting him off. I just don’t know what to say. I can’t see that cutting her down would help and I can’t find it in my heart to defend her so here I remain…blogging away on MommyCity.com to vent…*sigh

The good news is, it finally snowed! Yay! Too bad it’s all melted lol.

I have been crazyquilting like a madwoman!

I posted these on another blog and I figured maybe ya’ll would like to see them too.

This is the one Christina likes (Nana that’s your fabric on the border):

Autumn:

Spring:

Another purple that’s already sold (large file let it load):

I almost finished 4 more today…my poor fingers are bleeding from hand sewing binding. Pics when I can get around to it. Here’s the link to my etsy shop….http://CrazyRebecca.etsy.com

I did it…I finished another one!

I’m feeling quite accomplished…too bad I have a bad tooth, a dentist who thinks money grows on trees and no money tree :( But I digress….

Here’s my finished Cable Luxe Tunic from the Lion Brand KAL (knit a-long for those non knitters out there)

I made some last minute modifications with Jack’s input…I put a button on at the neck then he suggested I wear it backwards to show the keyhole. I tried it but didn’t like how I sewed the yoke join so I un-sewed it and made it a V neck with crochet around that part. Now I can wear it two ways!

Here are my Swirling Gauntlets I did last week

Admit it…you wish you could knit like me don’t ya? Practice practice practice!

Oh and I have to leave you with something else to ponder…

No it’s not giving me the blues….

It’s the sheer number of blue projects I have going. Very restful yet energizing.

I started a pair of tube socks for Alaina in orange/multi stripes. That should break things up a bit.

It’s cold, snowy and icy and I feel trapped.

I’ve not yet mastered my camera but I thought these turned out rather artsy fartsy anyways….

Not much going on here. Jack has 5 days off (no pay…booo) No word on if Dakota is going to Mommy Kim’s or not.

I am victorius! I conquered the Cabled Riding Jacket that somehow seemed destined to defeat me.

I not only finished the jacket but several other projects…

I’m labeling Nana one as one of my “Enablers”. She’s feeding my fabric addictions…and I don’t mean in a bad way lol! (Jack is my yarn  enabler…you’d think he’d say “Enough already” but instead he points and says…”Hey look! There’s a box of yarn!”)

I got a package from her yesterday with this in it….WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Here she is at my mom’s Memorial with the Grandma Quilt I made for her

Nana…I tried to email you but it bounced back :P Thanks again for the fabric!

Last Saturday Jack and I went to a craft show at the Senior Center on Hancock.

My friend from knitting, Charlys, had a booth and I wanted to go see her stuff. She has Parkinson’s Disease and knitting helps keep her tremors down. She brings her work in for show and tell and I decided a long time ago if she sold some AND IF I could AFFORD it, I would BUY SOMETHING! She had the purse I lusted after for sale for $25 so it is now mine….I have a shawl that matches it weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I saw some of my other knitting friends too…in order of appearance…Cindy, Sandy and Miss Betty

I got my picture drawn too….

Michele…email me your address so I can send you your gift :P Sorry it’s not a doofy hat…maybe next time

I have been BUSY BUSY BUSY…I have been sewing, knitting and some other stuff too. That’s why I haven’t been online much lately. Winter is fast approaching and I’ll be around more (probably).

Here is a short list of what I’ve accomplished lately

1) I made myself a blue hat out of some of the yarn I bought in Kansas on my way back from Illinois

2) I got the evil quilt blocks assembled and a border put on. I think I’ll go with the chili pepper fabric for the back if I can’t find anything else I like better this weekend.

3) Working on gray knee socks to wear with a couple of skirts

4) The blue crazyquilt is done except for the sleeve on the back to hang it and a few more buttons to hold it together

5) Cotton Yosemite Sweater from Knitty.com coming along nicely…I had this yarn in my stash from a Goodwill find….Wow I am seeing a blue theme develop here!

6) My stupid stupid cabled jacket is going to be too small….grrrrrrrrrr! I am determined to finish it. I’ll probably give it to my friend Vickie (she was here when my mom died)

So now you know about 1/2 of what I’ve been up to. More later…..

I finished my leaf shawl. Here are pics as it was blocking out…for those of you who have never experienced the magic of blocking a pile of wet wool into something beautiful like this…get thee to your nearest yarn shop!!!!!

I used a lace weight one-of-a-kind hand dyed wool with size 5 needles. it went fairly fast until the end…I was getting really really tired of it by the time I finished. I bought myself a  new lace shawl pattern and some baby alpaca yarn to make it in…yummy! Gonna force myself to finish my cabled riding jacket before I start that project.

Come on all you knitters/crocheters/needle workers…let’s see your stuff!!!!!

Christina, add me knitting category please.
